What's the differents between Uptown and Downtown? All of 3 to 5 miles?
With all the fighting you 're doing, it's taking away smiles.
There's no difference in the living; no such styles.
Killing each other off, look at the police files.
Counting the bodies 1-2-3 it still continues to pile.
It doesn't make you better than me.
Because that's where I started from Green Street you see.
It's All apart of Albany.
Recruiting them as young as nine years old.
Why can't you children just do what you are told?
Your attitudes are too bold.
Get mad at your parents if they try to scold.
Trying to get in the fold.
Is going to land you in the casket where you will mold.
Uptown consist of Arbor Hill.
Do this means you have special skills?
Do you even pay any bills?
Talking about downtown; Why do you frown?
You better than me, how do that sound?

What makes you better?
The streets are only getting wetter. Wetter with your blood and cries.
You won't know becuase it will be too late.

Because you took the bait.

No one else to be around.

Then it won't be Uptown or Downtown.
Now you have your mom crying as she goes down.

I used to live on Green Street.
Now I'm living in Arbor Hill.
So what's the deal?
As I took at all this thats happening, I'm wondering, 'is this real?'
We all put on our pants the same way.
When you do yours different that will be the day.
Killing one another off you think thats okay!
Once you shoot someone you no longer have anything to say.
Don't you get it your life is now ova.
To late to discover or that you can recover.
You will now live in a jail cell.
You get caught there is no bail.
Listening to others thinking you going to be down.
But the truth is what they refuse to tell.
Or maybe you think being in jail is cool.
If you think so then you are the fool.
This is madness we will not condone.
It's time for Uptown and Downtown to leave each other alone.
It's not a mystery.
Look at the history.
If you were born and raised in Albany.
You started Downtown and ended up Uptown.
Albany so small. You can't put up a wall.
In jail your friend is down the hall.
No more going to the mall.
Be careful and don't fall.
Because they will take your balls.
Now you're including the girls.
Who were once precious as pearls.
They don't even get it.
Being in jail is for the pits.
Your family, you tell them to sit.
Will the family be there?
Or will you be wondering where?
Where are you now I've done what you said?
They sit in remiss as your heart and life bled.
You say you want respect.
You're doing them a favor, killing each other off;
what do you expect?
Better put your minds in check.

Nobody win they do.

How many families you have to rattle?
Just tell me why do you continue to hassle?

Maybe even try to flee.
But you're mind won't be free.
This is something you really have to see,

What do you have to do with me?
You have to live your own life.
What is all this strife?
You're doing nothing but want us to see something.
You want to be noticed?
Get up out of bed and get a respectable job.
Pull up your pants and comb your hair.
Stop poisoning our own people.
If you are not doing this then this is not for you.
Before you dig your life deeper.
Staying out here the streets is much cheaper.
It costs more to keep you locked up in prison.
($15 thousand for Education and about $30 to $60 thousand to keep you locked up)
But it doesn't matter, they benefit more from you being locked up
so you are a keeper.
